Those night-time home invaders never have a shirt on! ;-) I do like those sights.

So, is the gun up to all the hype? What do you think of it? Can you personally compare it to some of the other polymer guns you've shot?

XDm vs. Glock 22

XDm-PROS-Better feeling grips(3 sizes), easier field strip, simple and more clearly visible cocked and loaded indicators, more accurate, match grade barrel, ambi mag release, they come standard with mag holder and holster 2 factory pinned high cap mags and better serration grips on the slide.

cons- due to the pin in the mag it can be a little harder to get mag to fully latch but if they were unhindered by the pin the function flawlessly. Ive considered blocking the mags from the bottom that way there would not be an issue, just havent gotten around to it.

Im not against Glocks at all, but if I had the choice the XDm is the one i would choose. It comes down to personal preference. All in all to answer your question, yes the XDm does live up to ALL the hype if your not afraid to spend a little more money...but like they say "you get what you pay for".

XD-M trigger pull on my .40 must be about 12 lbs...
it's not for the weak but I can still pull 2" 5 round groups at 20 yards with it.

I think it's a better looking gun that a G17/G22 for sure.

I'd like to try one. They look a little top heavy to me and I'm sure the bore height off one's hand has to be quite a bit taller than a GLOCK.

Very nice, can you tell us where did you get it? What's the price range? Are you sure it's a factory pinned mag, not importer pinned?

Sorry yes they are importer pinned mags. Saskatoon Gunworks seems to be the only place Ive heard of that is actually selling them. Price depends on the options, the stainless with night sights and 5 mags came out to just over $1400 but Id be proud to say I am probably one of the first to get my hands on that model in Canada.

I got one of the first batch of 20 XDm 40's Darren got in early in the year. Everyone who has fired it loves it, even my plastic hater friends. My expert friends say it's one of the most accurate guns they've fired.

Of all the semi's I've got it ties with my Trojan 45 for my favorite, and the big plus on my Trojan is that sweet trigger compliments of Gunnar. The trigger pull on my XDm is long, although not anywhere near the 12 lbs quoted here.

I plan to get some parts from here when I have some spare cash and get bored of all my other guns.

That is a fabulous looking handgun and it was my only other choice between it and the HK P30LS. The HK just felt so good in my hand and there are so many good write ups about them, that I decided to buy it as I couldn't find an XDM live to try on for size. Did you look at the HK stuff before buying the XDM? Just curious to hear your thoughts on the differences you noticed if you did look at an HK too?
