Springfield Defender 1911 or ?

Is there a Colt 1911 that’s comparable to The Springfield Defender 1911 , ($749).

If so, do anybody know who has one for sale?

Looking for something in a series 70 ish style , that can be upgraded over time.

Im pretty sure that none of Colt’s 1911/1911A1 current production pistols cross into the less than C$1000.00 mark. More like C$1199.00 & up.
From what I’ve seen & handled, 1911’s made by Colt these days is really good.

Ya, I thought I seen a Colt on one of the forum site sponsors, but I’ve been looking at so many,I forget which one.

I picked up a Springfield defender about month or so ago. Nice peice, and price was right. Be a good starting platform if that's what you're planning. I bought it so I could still have the look and feel of an old 1911a1 without having to use my original one.

If you intend to upgrade a Defender anyways, check out the Loaded model. It has everything you would normally install when upgrading a 1911 and it’s done properly at the factory. Or stalk the EE for one. Used Loadeds could be had for about the same as a new Defender or less. Even with 1-2K rounds through them, Springfields are like or even better than new.
