The distributor is highly unlikely to sell directly to you. Epp's is a dealer. No M1A's in stock according to their site though.
Whoever you regularly deal with can order whatever you want. Just be ready to pay up front.
Importing is an option, but an expensive option.

Importing really isn't that bad. If it gets you what you want - do it!

Edit: Epps is good too. Thats where I got my standard in walnut.
