Springfield Gov't 3rd Generation Rangefinding Illuminated Reticle Scope

I have just received one of these on a Win 70 heavy barrel rifle in .308.
I know the rifle is not the Top of the line, but I wondered what people's opinions are of this scope. It is new and looks pretty good. Will it perform out to 500 yards?

Any opinion would be appreciated.

Yes it will. I have a 1st gen, and have used 2nd and 3rds. There have been reliability issues with the later models (why I kept the 1st gen), and warranty is a #####. Check on a couple of the sniper sites (snipershide etc) and there are write ups and detailed threads comparing them to other more recent models. As far as I know, Springfield Armoury no longer sells them, nor supports them. - dan
