The Springfield M1 carbine forward scope mount. Has any one tried them out . Are they worth it. They seen to be to fare forward for a scope. An can you get one in Canada. Thanks for any info.
The foreword mount is used with a pistol or scout scope, extended eye relief scopes. I have my m1 carbine and SKS setup on mounts in front of the action. I like them very much.
Looks like a copy of the UltiMAK without the barrel clamps, so it's a railed handguard. If your M1 is like mine, the bayonet lug band walks, so probably not great.
Dont know if they still make them but a company "Norstar" made a scope mount for the carbine that mounts into the rear sight dovetail. I have one & it works very good...you dont need a long eye relief scope, I think I have a 4-12 on mine.
I think with the Ultimak scout mount. You could get away with a extention weaver rail to run a regular eye relief scope. I had a RDS on mine and just mounted a 2x Burris scout scope.
There is a bb gun version that came out a couple years ago. Sporting the Springfield Logo. Which is safe to assume that the mount he is talking about is for that model.
As there are little options for railed handguard for the M1C. As many do not want to lose their rear sight.
And who knows what model they used to make the handguard, auto ord or a USGI. As the USGI are longer. My ultimak rail was modded for a auto ord. So its 1/2in shorter, but with that mount you leave it not touching the bands.
