This is the story..........

I have a Norinco M14 and would like to replace the recoil-spring for a brand new stainless steel Springfield M1A spring. ???? Go figure.

So, I E-Mailed my request to Springfield Armory and told them I owned a Springfield rifle and had lost my recoil-spring and wanted to order one...this is the reply I got:

Dear "Pietro"
Could you forwarding me your mailing address and serial number of the rifle to send the spring? Don’t worry about that the cost.

Holy-Moly, I thought. But theres one problem, I dont own a springfield.

What should I do?............
can anybody provide me with a valid serial number from their M1A?

But I'm not sure I should even do this... I dont want to "fraud" the guy out of a spring. Should I just come clean and tell the guy I've got a Norinco M-14 and I'd like to purchase a spring? (He'd probally spit on me, or something)

Do you think he'd refrence the serial number to the owner?

...I dont know.

"...Don’t worry about that the cost..." This is what happens when you lie and try to defraud people.
"...can anybody provide me..." Now you want somebody else to help you defraud them?

#1 Why did you BS the guy? #2, now they won't send you parts small as that for free due to being BSed ... tsk tsk tsk partner! Just call them up and ask for the part and price and order one ... they're not that much! Ask for Al Mandanzo(sp) as he's really good to deal with!
