Springfield M1A Rifle in Canada

Where to find an M1A

Looking at the Springfield Armory MA9102 M1A standard rifle with the walnut stock. Just wondering if they are sold here in Canada and by who? How much do they usually go for here, im assuming its alot!

For warranty service, Springfield directed me to F.N.Sports. If it's not the exclusive, it's the main importer for SAI. Call them, they should be able to tell you which gunshop received the specific model you're looking for.
I suspect they're responsible of the over-pricing but we can't do much about it.
You should find a new standard M1A around 2400$.

The standard is a good choice regarding weight: it's the only model that comes with standard contour barrel (lightest). It's cheaper+easier to upgrade your sights later than to flute a medium or heavy barrel.

Good luck! ;)

As in the past... I'll be happy to fix your Springfield Armory M1A therefore saving you the journey/adventure of sending your Canadian bought M1A over the border and waiting for who knows how long. And here's the rub b: I won't tell all the Norc owners at my clinics whose M1A's I've repaired ;)

Peace be to journey!

M1A scout

If someone's looking for one: yesterday I traded in at The Shooting Edge (here in Calgary) an M1A Socom that I had re-barreled with an 18.5 inch LRB barrel and re-verified as non-restricted. Nice rifle.

I'm very tempted on this rifle but it's not the set-up I'm looking for so I'll keep saving until we can order some new LRB M25.

For those interested in the Socom-Scout rifle here are some more details: it shot 50-300rnd, tight bolt and perfect finish. It comes with one 5-10 mag, Ultimak rail and Aimpoint M3. For 3000$ you get a scout M1A with the lowest reddot possible on an M14. With the right mount you can co-witness the sights with the Aimpoint. Considering the M3 is 5-600$ and Ultimak 200$, it's a pretty good bang for the buck.

I didn't get the chance to inspect it but it should be similar to this (except with black socom stock and GI flash-hider:

I got an M1A from Wolverine about a year ago. Great gun. Not cheap. Should last forever. Took about 3-4 months to get it shipped due to Springfield's other requirements. If you got the time and the money, go for it.
