Springfield M1A Warrenty Repair

Anybody here ever had to utilize the Springfield Lifetime warrenty?

Reason I ask is, that I need the bolt roller ring replaced, as it has disappeared - just finally noticed after buying it in the summer and not having fired it yet.

I've contacted Springfield and I have to go through R. Nicholls to get it sent back to them.

Anybody ever done this before? What sort of timeframe are we looking at?

A buddy of mine has sent his gun trough Nicholls. The turnaround time is about 1½ month or less.

I would just send back the bolt and make sure you get a RMA # from them first.

Ya, just mail in the bolt, not the entire rifle.

Or you could order one from Brownells or from someone on this board, it is no big deal to install.

Or he could just have the warranty cover it free of charge, and not have to worry about headspacing etc.

If there's a warranty, you should use it.
