Springfield NM Gas cylinder- Will it fit my norc?

My norc has one of those gas pistons that is really terribly out of round. Not sure if it is effecting accuracy. Ive shot enough stock norinco m14s so this gun is in the pimpification process currently and Im wondering if this would be a good addition. Im tired of hearing about unitized gas systems and not having one

I already have an adjustable gas block from dlask and I would imagine that would tighten up the gas system some. Anyone think this is worthwhile at this stage?

The M1A gas system will fit, I did the same upgrade then had M14doctor's welding experts work their magic on my gas cylinder. Now I run an American dimensioned piston, spares can be bought from Brownells.

Now about that gas lock from Dlask , I see no reason why it should not work to tighten up the entire system.... Go for it.

I bought a cylinder it was .499, norinco piston was .500

I think cylindar should idealy be .497

Put my cylinder in the lathe and hit it with some fine emery cloth

The nicest gas cylinders I've owned and installed for others have been the M80HT cylinders from SEI (armtac)
But the springfield NM ones will fit your chinese rifle. Of course you will need the entire assembly, ie: plug, piston, cylinder assembly. Your rifle's gas lock gets re used.
A worthy upgrade I'd say, if your chinese one is pooched.
