Springfield Rifle in 303

Bannerman made up some surplus Springfields in .303, and the British used them as drill rifles. I think Estonia ordered some Mausers in .303 as well.

There were 100 Bannerman Springfields made up in .303" calibre. They used surplus Model 1901 (experimental program which ended with the 1903) receivers and were shipped to Great Britain in 1940. Only ones I know of for sure. WISH I had one!!!!!!

A M1903 rifle in .30-03 is very rare.

Incredibly rare.
I have had serial number 32 in my hands several times. It is the ramrod bayonet model and was sent to the Governor of Wyoming in 1904.

I think the gun in question is a Lee Enfield No. 4. I cannot recall how many time I have guys say they got a Springfield rifle and it turns out to be an Enfield. Very common error.
