really nice rifle, but know that a norc m-305 +3700$ in upgrades is going to be a better rifle.....heck, I'm pretty sure you could equal the performance for the norc +1500$. The springfield reciver will be prettier though  .

+1.

You can build a better rifle using a Norc forged reciever, then paying the inflated price for a SA M14 SM that uses a cast reciever.

Trust me, I have done it in the past.......

SKBY.

Already got an M14S, maybe I should get one custom built..with Krieger or Douglas barrel & a McMillan M3A stock(Which I prefer to the M1A Camo, anyways)..

m14

If was gonna spend that much dough and wanted a nice m14 i'd contact Fulton Armoury and get something scratch built.

All of you , SAVE YER MONEY !!

Unless you are competing in any NRA High Power matches on a regular basis, the wonderful shooting, feeling and handling Super Match will be an unwise use of scarce financial resources.

Okay, maybe you do have lots and lots of money for a safe queen, then by all means grab them, but if you want a tack driver, you will have better fortunes with a much cheaper Savage 11X FPX or M700P or M70 Stealth or Tikka Tactical or Steyr or SAKO TRG.

I dunno about you wealthier CGNutters, but with a kid at Queer's Univ in Kingston, I would follow Skullboy's advice or Mysticplayers' approach or even NavyShooters' experiments with match ammo through your factory barrel. You will be surprised what a box stock, bedded into a decent stock Norinco-Plinko M305 can turn out for a lot less money.

Just tryin' to save your money!! My 2 aftertax cents worth....

I lusted for years after springfield M1a's but when I could finally afford one, I bought two norc instead. Add a pair of USGI stocks, arms base and indexer mount with rings, scope, sling, cases, extra mags, I still havent hit the price of a springfield yet, and they both shoot very well indeed :dancingbanana:

Listen to words of (the funniest) wiseguy on M14s, 'you d!ck won't fall off.' I think I need one of those CDs. Barney, knowledgeable as he may be on advice on the board, the clinic videos are a source of entertainment as well...mostly because of his comments.

I owned a Supermatch almost 20 years ago. It was an awesome AWESOME boom stick.

I had to sell it to go to University. Biggest mistake I ever made in my life.
