Springfield XD-M or XDM coming to cda?

I don't feel life calling all the dealers and getting a different answer every time.

Does anyone know about the XD-M coming to Canada? And how much $ if it's already here?

It's not a glock at all. It has a dramatically different grip, and since that's what I dislike about the glock, the XD works better for me.

I keep hearing that Springfield is in no hurry to make (or import if they happen to be made in Europe) 10 rd magazines legal in Canada... until then it seem useless for anyone to import the pistol.
 
Gobles, in London, lists the XDM at $1092.50Cdn. Whether they have one is something you'd have to ask them. Add the W's. .gobles.ca/SpringfieldArmory09.html
 
You would think we should be able to get them,,,,,doesnt California also have a 10 rnd mag limit? I am sure they will cater to the great Schwarzenegger state....Hmmmmm

Yes, the XDM should be allowed to be imported provided they offer 10 round mags, however I sent an email to Springfield asking when they will offer a "California legal" option (I.E. 10 round mags) and they told me point blank "Not until either December or early next year", so that makes me suspicious of this "Gobles" place and their claiming to have them.

Maybe they imported some pinned mags with their guns, that's the only way I could see it happening because SA said they aren't making the 10 rounders yet.
 
When the XDM comes to Canada, prepare to be elbowed dead in the face for the front of the line position. :)
Can't stand the beaver tail saftey though with a "safe action" trigger.
 
With gun-buying craze in the US and XDm being a very good gun, they don't sit on store shelves down over the border. Sure, Springfield will cater to US market first as it's way easier and cheaper for them to deal with US dealers vs Canada.

And as far as grip safety goes - you WON'T even notice it when shooting (may be when handling in store).

I'd still choose a Glock over an XD/XDM. The XDM just doesn't offer $500 more worth of pistol. Do you really think it does? Personal preference is one thing, but $500 is $500.

I contacted Springfield directly last week and they sent the following list of Canadian dealers for the XD and XDM's. What I found interesting is that they don't list EM Precision in Gatineau or Gobles in London, Ont. In another thread I'd asked a group who sourced XDMs in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and at least one person had bought from EM. In this thread Sunray provided a link to the Gobles website that showed them as having stock.
