Springfield XD or Glock 21

Hi Guys,

I want your opinion on two .45s I'm deciding on

one is

Springfield xd .45 OD

The other is the Glock 21 .45 od

If you like Springfield XD wait maybe for XD-M, it seems to be nicer pistol.
As for Glock, I think it is a better choice due to unlimited modifications and parts availability.
Have you consider 1911 platform for .45?
 
Have you held them both? Have you dry-fired them both?

I wouldn't buy either until I had.

It should be obvious which of the two feels best, and there's your answer.
 
I have both, in 40 S&W

I think the Springfield is a much better firearm

It feels better, shoots better and has better features (loaded round indicator and striker indicator)

but it is a personal preference, you should fire both if you can before making a decision, good luck. :)
 
I personally found the XD felt better in my hands and thats why I JUST purchased one. I wanted the Glock 21 forever, but once I felt it and shot it, my big hands preferred the XD.

From a quality and reliability stand point, everyone seems to argue one is better then the other but its all preference. I think they are both great guns and both reliable.

The only way to know for sure is to hold both. Whatever makes you happier!
 
The XD is better than the Glock hands down, that's why I got mine.
You could wait for the XDm or just get the XD and shoot it. By the time the XDm comes in . . . whenever that is . . . just make the commitment to buy another gun!
The XDm will not be out in .45 even if and when it does get here, so you can get it in one of "those other calibres" and still have a good .45!
So, what are you waiting for, buy the gun and tell us about it!
 
I would also say go with the xd. I had a xd9 and sold it as I needed cash at the time. I wish I had it back and will be buying another one. if the xdm comes here when I am ready then I will buy it but have no problems buying the xd.
 
I liked the fit and feel of the XD and got one in .40 I'd really like to get my hands on a XDM.45 if Springfield ever decides to do one for us.
 
Make it a 21C and I would go with the Glock. That compensated barrel is awesome, and something you won't get on the XD.
Both guns are a good choice though.
