Springfield XD Parts Issues

So here is a problem that I am not sure anyone else has had with their Springfield XD pistols. I really like the gun and shoot it competitively. Last year during a stage I had a problem with the trigger not resetting. Thus the stage was toast 3 shots in. Turns out to be a broken trigger return spring. Simple, phone them up, buy a spring and replace it.

Not so fast, Springfield says, we cannot sell you parts for the XD and will not ship to Canada for sure. I for one refuse to send my gun down for them to fix as they cannot guarantee it would be returned.

I guess its time someone like Brownells starts manufactiring aftermarket parts for these guns so a person can continueshooting. I have an extra gun but that is not the point, you would think they would be willing to service what they sell.

Very dissappointing!!!!!

I haven't had any problems with my XD but I am also concerned about what to do if (or I should say when) I experience some sort of breakage down the road. I have heard that if you talk to a Canadian dealer they may be able to help you. I wouldn't want to ship my gun south of the border, but if you were to send it to a dealer then maybe they could ship it down for you and have it returned with their next order from Springfield? Just a thought. There is so much talk about SA's parts policy that I wouldn't be surprised if they start to relax it. There are some things that I would just rather fix myself with spare parts. A lifetime warranty is no good if you can't guarantee you will get your gun back after it's fixed, but that's Canada customs' fault, not SA's.

Handyguy, give Wolverine Supplies a call and see what they can do for you. Others on this board have stated that John was able to help them out with broken parts.

I like the XD ALLOT (my buddy has one I shoot often) but I won't buy one becasue of this parts issue.

Glock baby...you can find parts on the sidewalk for em... :D

that's probably mostly because they explode so often and criminals use them a lot..
.......and XD's are the safest pistol available for law abiding people because you can't get parts for them:p ;)

ahhhhahahahahaha

Parts is parts... :D

And to explode..it must shoot. Can't do that if it's in the USA getting fixed. :p

TSE had similar issues getting parts for XD's. Perhaps give James a shout and see if they picked up a line on parts.

Oh, and as I am sure you know non factory parts in your XD would mean your no longer able to compete in production.
