Springfield XD Striker Retainer Pin Broke

Hey All,

I was shooting my XD at the range earlier this week and the Striker Retainer Pin worked itself out of my gun (in pieces no less...)

As a result, the Firing pin protrudes a lot more than it would without the pin after pulling the trigger.

From what I can tell by looking online, the problem seems to be caused by dry firing without a snap cap in the chamber. I've contacted Springfield for a replacement pin and will post an update here when they get back to me.

Alright, The long delay was completely my fault. Gmail considered Springfields domain to be spam, and I didn't think to check my spam box.

On their part, they replied to my email a day from receiving it, a 4 minute call without any hold times got me through to a lady who got all my shipping information and the handguns serial number. The part I need is in the mail and they didn't even charge me shipping.

I believe it. I've sold many Springfields over the years and this is the first time I've had to contact their customer service. I'd buy mine again in a heartbeat.
