Springfield XD45 Compact in Canada

I've heard of some big delays in getting some XD models in Canada. But after reading a recent artical in Guns & Ammo (IIRC) on the new XD45 Compact I'm more interested than ever! Looks cool with the compact frame but can use either 10 round compact mags or the larger 13 (10) round mags for a larger grip.

Any one know when they might be available in Canada?

Would need to change to a longer barrel to make it restricted. Not sure how this affects importation...

Springfield has from what I have heard done this before. It only needs about 0.1" to be added from what is listed. I think it would look a bit better anyways seeing the recoil spring assembly is already forward of the slide a bit.

OK, so I've been hooked on this thing now. How would a guy go about importing one? Are there companies here that will import them and switch out the bbl to a perfectly 106mm? How is this going to affect cost? .... I'm thinking about calling Wolverine....

I was actually thinking about calling them and just seeing if they could ship me one with a 5" XD45 Barrel on it and then I'd just go get it cut to 106mm. Not sure if that'll fly but I'm gonna call em on Monday.
 
The "tactical" 5" doesn't do it for me, witch is too bad cause from what I heard they are a good buy...
Questar is a good idea, but having a factory barrel of 106mm would be a no-brainer.
where do I sign?
 
Yeah - if they were to start putting 106mm Barrels into these puppies in the factory for us, like some other manufacturers have, I'd definately pick up a couple of these (one for me, one for my wife).

Not yet but this is what I'm thinkin'. If they'll do it, hopefully it will be cheap. I'm assuming that after getting Springfield to install a bbl Questar would be the way to get it into the country? How much do they charge? Can one do it themselves cheaper?

*eta* Wow, not payin' Questar $225 to import it :rolleyes:

When I got my xd9 yesterday he showed me the compact. I didnt like the feel at all. It would be good in smaller hands.
