As for how they perform. I've seen a few models digest thousands upon thousands of rds, just like any good 1911 should. However, like any plain GI model, they work the best with ball ammo. If you plan on using different ammo like HP or flat nose stuff, it may not be your best choice (unless you want a little work done on it). If you want it for nostalgic reasons, it great. But if you want a 1911 shooter, shell out a few bucks more and get a Loaded Model. And you get all the bells and whistles. My 2 cents.
