I cannot understand that so many manufacturers picrail are razor sharp.
Not only is it highly inconvenient, it also decreases the repetability of the picrail.
Reason for the less good repetability is when you use the gun sooner or later there is sharp dent sticking up as there is a lack of chamfer.
Here is same gun before and after.
This is not a service we offer, this is done on Håkans personal gun but this is the way we at spuhr manufacture our picatinnyrails! We call it picatinny generation 2.

The Drengr Mjölnir Gen3 bag has taken the Nordic PRS scene by storm. Developed due to a lack of high quality shooting bags in the Nordic region and in a very short time it has completely taken over the market and is used from club match to World Cup level.

The sack is sewn in waxed canvas that provides the perfect balance between softness and durability. The sack is sewn with double seams. There is an opening on one short side for easy adjustment of the degree of filling, closed with velcro.

Recommended filling options:

  • Glassblowing media (0.1-0.2 mm) ~ 3.9 kg. This filling provides maximum stability and is less sensitive to moisture than pure sand.
  • Sand ~ 3.9 kg. Cheap option that gives good stability but will clump in wet weather

Here are two typical picatinny rails, the first one is a standard picatinny rail as you can buy it anywhere. The other one is a Spuhr picatinny rail generation 2.
Apart from the rail feeling likely att cheese grater in your hand, the hard coat anodizing actually makes the situation way worse.

As the anodizing primarily builds on already sharp corners you end up with a particularly sharp and nasty rail. In addition to your rail aspiring to replace Freddy Krueger as the new star of the Nightmare on Elm Street the repeatability is lost as well. When the sharp corners inevitably break off, your accessory wont mount in the same way and you will affect your zero.
