I sent my ATT application to the "Service de Permis, SQ" on the 11th of December and haven't heard from them yet.

If you are from Quebec and you have received your ATT for the year 2009, could you reply to me by PM giving me the address that you used to send the application.

I suspect that I might have used the wrong address -

Service de Permis, SQ
B.P. 1400, Succursale C
Montreal, QC
H2l 4K7

I have applied many times before with no problems but my records show that I have used different addresses, including the one above, over the years.

CFC intructs applicants to send it to the CFO but more specific addresses including the one given by my gun club are different than the CFO one.

I will call the Quebec CFO tomorrow but thought that asking here might get me a quicker answer.

Thanks,

Duke1

I strongly suggest you simply call 'em. I sent mine it at around the same time and only just received it last Thursday. So either you're about to get it or something happened. I called 'em and it was coincidentally being processed that same day (last Monday).
Sorry, can't confirm that you have the right addy. I don't remember it...

Thanks!

I find that calling them usually gets them going and if you only received yours a couple of days ago, it might be related to the volume of applications at this time of the year.

The CFO office did mention in the past that they wish gun clubs would not tend to renew their memberships at the end of the year making for a large volume of applications for ATT at that time.

Thanks.

See what I mean here - the address given by CFC:

Sûreté du Québec
Service du contrôle des armes à feu
1701, rue Parthenais, bureau 10-07
Montréal (PQ) H2K 3S7

I presume that the applications would be passed on to the appropriate office but who knows.

PS. I heard of Loi 9 and I suppose it contains a number of new requirements including starting Jan 2009, the need to submit in person your application for a restricted/prohibited license to a police officer where he will identify you and complete the required form and send the 2 forms to CFC. The form is already on CFC.

Yes this is correct for people taking the restricted course for the first time.

Loi 9 is a course about where you can and can't transport restricted firearms, you also have to take a practical test (20 shots)to show that you can shoot safely...if you don't do the test or you don't pass it.you will not be given a ATT to your club.

I'm in the same boat as you fellows. I sent my request for the ATT in mid-december and have not heard from the SQ. I do have an ATT and a licence to carry for my trap line but no ATT for the club.

I sent my request to:

Service des permis
Sûreté du Québec
Service du contrôle des armes à feu
1701, rue Parthenais, bureau 10-07
Montréal (PQ) H2K 3S7

For additional details of Loi 9 (LOI 9 MODIFIANT LA LOI SUR LA SÉCURITÉ DANS LES SPORTS) (Anastasia - Dawson College shooting reaction):

In French but don't know if this is the final version.

I belong and shoot at the EOHC in Ontario and had to go through similar testing before allowed to join the club. My ATT is from home in Quebec to EOHC (an Ontario handgun club).
