I've bought a used Square Deal B and need a little help.
It looks like the shell plate advances 1/4 turn when the handle is operated. Correct?
However, the shellplate wants to reverse itself and return to the original position when the handle is lowered.

Now, the ejector wire is missing. Could that be what is allowing the shell plate to return?
Will getting a new wire solve this problem?

Many thanks.

Ejector wire only ejects, has nothing to do with indexing.
Go to the Dillon Precision website.
The manual is available there, along with parts diagrams, etc.
Also their help line. Dillon's customer service is outstanding.

From what I remember about the SQB , there is a small bar under the shell plate that comes up
and rotates the shell holder 1/4 turn clockwise when the handle is raised. When the handle is lowered,
the shell plate raises up to the dies and resizes etc.
Then raising the handle should lower the shell plate and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise ready
to do the next stage.

As Tiriaq said, the wire only diverts the finished round out of the shell plate and into
the blue catch box at the side.
Also, agreed that Dillon's service is excellent.

Also check YouTube for videos on how it operates.
