Squib problem

I was shooting some very old factory match ammo in a 45 1911. I was shooting rapid fire and fired the second one before i could react to the squib. It split the barrel.

Even if you don't reload, why not just pull a bullet, dump about half the powder, stuff in some kleenex and let fly? Works for me.

"...a mallet and punch may be the way to go..." Padded vise, a plastic mallet and a brass rod. No bends required.

I made a brass rod 5/16th thick. Put the rod in the barrel and pound down on a hard surface. With lead bullets it usually doesn't take to many strikes.
