squires and bringham help

Mags come up from time to time on the EE (someone just sold a whack of 'em a few days ago there). BTW, since S&B made many different rifles (bolt & semi-auto), which one do you have?

In my experience, and from what I've read, they seem to be good shooters, reasonably accurate, and quite reliable in function if they're not too dirty inside the bolt (a good cleaning can fix that). I have two M1600 models, that I've owned for 15-20 years, and neither of them has ever failed to feed, misfired, etc.

For mags, I was directed there by Cantom a few months back:

For parts, look at Numrich, they have all kinds of parts for Squire Bingham rimfire rifles.

I have a M20 I bought off of my grandfather. Love the thing. But does anyone know how to remove the trigger group? There's the one big screw, but after that I can't seem to figure out how to break it loose?

Have you already removed the bolt?

To get the trigger group off, You have to remove the trigger...

One trigger stop pin, and the actual pin that goes through the trigger. Carefully (extra carefully the aluminum triggers break easily!!!) remove the trigger. Underneath it is the second screw that holds the trigger group on.Careful, there's also a tiny spring and plunger under the trigger.

I'm not certain you have to remove the safety mechanism. It is held by a single screw. Be careful with this step too...the safety has a spring n' ball combo under pressure. If you don't keep you thumb over it while disassembling, you'll be chasing a tiny ball bearing around your floor (if you see where it lands!)

Lol sounds about as much fun as I thought it would be. Thank you though. And yes the bolt, and just about everything else, was removed when I tried it.
