I picked up one of these at an auction recently and it appears that the firing pin/ striker?? is broken. I figured out how to take the action apart (real simple) but.. I can;t figure out how to take the firing pin out of the bolt. Looked all over the net to find diagram or a manuel for it. Usually a broken auction gun goes back to the sale, but this one is like brand new condition, so I would like to fix and shoot it. Anyone got any hints as to where to look?

There's got to be a pin that needs to be punched out, or something like that. Any pics of the breech block?
Exactly, in fact, it kind of looks like a spring type dowel pin with one end pinched. The pinched side can be grasped with small pliers and then just pull while tapping lightly on the opposite side with a small punch. It is also possible that this pin has already been replaced by something else if the gun has been maintained before. Like Grouse Man said, any pics?

The Squires Bingham shotguns appear to be the Old HIGH STANDARD SHOTGUN made in the Philippines with double action bars on the slide. Goto http://stevespages.com/page7a.htm then goto High Standard and which ever model looks closest to yours.

That link to stevespages is perfect bearman thanks. The model 120 and the 200 sure look like what I have BUT I think the retainig pin must be broken cause it looks like a one piece pin but when I went to tap it out it wnt in and the pin seems to have gotten shorter ie. broken in the bolt , also the firing pin end got real stiff suggesting sheared off etc. Oh well something for a winter project. as for pics I have to check out how to do that, cause not that savvy on computers yet.

I've got a schematic of a squires bingham model 30 here some place. If i find it i'll fax it to you if you've got a fax number. Like a lot of things in my shop they get way laid.
