Squirrel season is opening up here in ontario soon and there is a very good population. I have never tried squirrel but I am willing to give it a chance.

New scope on my 10/22 will have to take it out and give it a try

They eat nuts so I figure they should be pretty good are there any squirrel hunters out there, how do they taste and what's the best way to cook them.

They taste similar to hares, which taste very much like dark meat turkey.

Slow cooker or pressure cooker to get them nice and tender. Otherwise you'll be in for a good chew.

I shot a few last year and I'll second the idea to watch you tube and do the one minute skinning method
Then I quartered them
Boned out the bigger pieces, coated them in fish crisp and pan fried them
Only problem was being the one cooking them I almost didn't get to try any myself... They were getting gobbled up as quick as I could cook it!

Pressure cooker for five minutes and then on the BBQ to caramelize the sauce of choice and eating in about 20 minutes. Alternatively, brown in a frying pan and cover and simmer for 45 minutes. They eat the same thing deer do just a few less greens.
