well I was moving some boxes around the attic today and getting rid of any old junk I didn't want or need anymore from my last move as I'm posted out in a few months and didn't want to take all that junk with me again, lol.

To my surprise In a few boxes there was half eaten bird seed and Squirrel droppings ...... grrrrrrrrrr! Ruined some of the stuff I wanted to keep!

My friend gave me a trap for small critters a few years back because of a chipmunk nuisance. I still have the trap and am wondering If i'm allowed to trap it and drive it say to the other side of the town and let him/her go?

Any thoughts?

yup.... make sure you find where they are getting in and seal it up.... or they'll be back..... a bit of peanut butter on a crust of bread and they'll be jailed in no time

Nice, Have the trap set! as for the holes have to have DND fix those, It's PMQ Housing :(

I was just worried about ontario law, you never know, the hunting laws around here are bizzare

Thanks!

The government has no business, in the attics of the nation. :D

I've live trapped many squirrels. They're suckers for bird seed. I set the trap with one end blocked, and the seed at that end, so they have to crawl over the trigger to get it.

Someone in may family used to catch the tree rats in a live trap quite regularly, mainly for raiding his garden and unbeknownst to him, somebody would take those live traps and drop them in a rain barrel.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bless there hearts, they knew the tree rat was thirsty after being in the trap that long:D

Get rid of them ASAP! They can do a massive amount of damage in a very short time.

The little buggers chewed a hole in the vent under the eaves on my garage, they then proceeded to rip apart the attic and everything in it in a very short amount of time. I wont tell you how I got rid of them, but I will say I no longer have a squirrel problem :)

I was battling a couple of those things in my attic at the cabin. They'd avoid me for the week I was there, then rip up stuff when I went away.

I think a Fisher came through and got them both.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

squirrels had taken over the attic above my kitchen before i bought the house and when i gutted the house we found 7 dead squirrels up there in the insulation and everything was saturated in urine. one of those hidden costs i wasnt too happy with.

after replacing all of the joists, insulation, and sealing up the outside the buggers kept trying to get in. so i made an entrance hole for them with a snare wire at the entrance. caught one the first day. took a couple days to get the other one but when i finally did it got a leg in the snare so it was very alive when i went to pull him out. ended up using an empty wine bottle to finish it off in one whack.

sealed it up with spray foam and havent had any problems since. 3 or 4 of them are in my backyard daily so i know it wont be long before they try getting in there again.

"...bird seed..." Why do you suppose they call it bird seed when you don't get a bird when you plant it?
Use the live trap and talk to Base Housing about fixing the holes. Said hole doesn't have to be very big either. You could try filing a claim for damages, but I don't think I'd hold my breath.

You can get a dozen rat traps for something like $2.50 from a trapping supply store, set up a half dozen over night and see what you have.
