Squirrels in the garage!

I to had the rodent problem in a garage. I made no big deal about it because was going to tear it down and put up a new one. I kept nothing of any value in it so I was not worried they wold do any damage. I had put my son,s go cart in the garage only to find out they ate the seat down to the springs. Time for them to go. They had a hole chewed the soffit so I took one of those real sticky fly strips and stuck it in the hole. a day later I seen this strip covered with black hair wrapped around a branch of a nearbuy tree. I found this funny my wife says I am sick. Well it did not git rid of them but The torment I inflicted on it was revenge enough for the seat.

^This one gets my vote :D Definetely more fun than a pellet gun, and when you're finished you can have fun with it around the house, or you and your buddies can sit around havin' beers and seeing who can hold onto the pie plate the longest :p
 
How about CB ammo for the .22 You can try longs or shorts, they're as loud as a pellet gun and travel a bit faster (~700 fps) and maybe more accurate? That's what I use around my place, but then I don't really have neighbors.
 
I had a bad squirrel problem in a log house i lived in. Don't shoot them unless you can retrieve them. They stink. I used my 10/22 and the tried and trusted SSS method. (SHOOT. SHOVEL. SHUT-UP) But I didn't have to worry about damage, or neighbors. I was at a friends cabin in the Horsefly area one night when a pack-rat climbed out of the ceiling. He calmly loaded his 12 gauge, told me to plug my ears and proceeded to shoot it 3 times at about 10 feet. I don't think he has had a rodent problem since.
 
Pack-rat's I had foregot they existed. I moved from the east and got a job in CANMORE in a unerground coal mine. One of the seniour employees showed me how to deal with those rodents. You take one of those crappy sandwiches your wife makes then roll a blasting cap in the bread and well you get the rest of the picture.

Our squirrel problem was fixed with a nasty barn cat that was "borrowed" for the situation. :eek: That was the best fed puddy tat in our neck of the woods.:p Rat traps work but scarin' the hell out of them with a big predacious puddy tat works better and its more entertaining too .:D

I had a big tomcat that relatives/friends used to borrow when they had rodent problems. We used to throw the cat in there and let him do his thing, I don't think he slept until everything was dead and you could see the smile on his face:D. In most cases the rodents never came back.

But can you kill a squirrel with a pellet hand gun at 20yard or so?
I have to many digging in my yard wouldn't mind taking a few out .
 
Use the classic method of a trapper. Put a leaning pole against the wall or nearby trees and set snares on it. Check the internet for how to make the set up. Trappers have caught squirres for hundreds of years using the leaning pole and snare method. Squirrels were a trappers bread and butter fur source. It works verywell.

I hate the little buggers and I know a Crossman .177 pellet zaps 'em permanently. no noise,,little bit of floppin'

Used this method during survival training, it works great, use rabbit wire, they run along the pole, get caught , fall over the side, done deal. :)

yeah we tired them down east on a wharf rat that like to torment my wife in the kitchen at nightgot all the field mice but the rat never went near it ended up having to shoot that sucker
they would work great on smaller rodents like squerils*yes i know spelt it wrong*
 
trapping

Ted i have first hand exsperience trapping squirrels, i bought a live trap from Buckerfeilds, and make sure it is'nt to big, 6''x 6''x 18'' and use peanut butter for bait and refresh the bait every 2 days for best results.
