I just recieved my sr22 in the mail yesterday and when i took it out of the box and inspected it, I wasn't overly pleased. I could see quite a few little nicks here and there. The worst was right below the threaded barrel cap. One is about an inch long followed by another about half an inch. Theres another spot maybe 1/4" long thats a fairly wide mark on the barrel. Directly under the handguard is a little nick aswell. This all clearly happened while the hanguard was being put on at the factory. All of these show the shiny steel underneath the finish coating. The buffer tube is also two different colours. The very front is a true black for about 1.5", then there is a solid line and the rest has a purple "ish" hue to it. Mechanics of it seem to be ok, just looks like it was handled quite rough while being put together. Its a shame for a brand new gun. Anyways, I'd like to know other peoples experience with the Sr-22. I`m not to sure what to do. If thats just the way they are I might try some cold blue to touch it up. Any ideas on how to blend the buffer tube to make it all black? And do i need to remove the buffer tube to take off the collapsible stock? Any other ideas on what I should do are greatly appreciated as im quite disapointed with ruger. These are obvious marks that surely someone had seen. I understand a gun is a gun, I just dont like some guy at the factory putting scratches all over a brand new gun then sending it out. And it was not shipping wear as it was wrapped up.
