Item Number: 18022
Full Length Top tactical Rail: Attached using the supplied SHCS’s and runs the entire length of the SR-22 Hand guard. Not only can you attach a front sight, additionally, this rail extends the scope mount rail and allows the use of longer mounted optics and/or night vision accessories. All Ruger tactical rails are made to Picatinney Rail specifications allowing the use of military or weaver style mounts and attach to the SR-22 hand guard using the tapped screw holes already provided.

Are the top rails of AR handguards, like the one's listed above, built to a standard height?
Will it line up with the rail on the body of the SR-22 as the ruger top rail the OP is asking about does? This seems like a key issue if planning to mount iron sights?

Ruger SR 22

Note the flashhider is NOT available in Canada....it is shipped without it....govt. regulations.....don't you feel safer now???

It's not our regulations, it's the USA's. They wont allow export of a firearm with a threaded barrel. No trouble to get one put on after though. So I guess the question is, do the americans feel safer now?, lol.

To answer HeliBif, no, a standard rail will not line up with the rail on the SR22. The rail mentioned here is higher than standard to make it line up.

So, would an AR quadrail handguard and rail mounted iron sights be an impossibility on this rifle? Or do the sights have adjustments to compensate for a difference in rail heights?

And once they get in country, we just change out the stocks and thread the barrel...

Calamity and woe... Wont someone please think of the children...

We checked with the Ruger importer/distributer who brought in the SR 22's and they don't have any rails in stock. They are going to the Shot Show and will be making sure some are on the way ASAP. Phil.

After doing some research, there are suggestions that using a sight fitted for an AR-10 gas block will help in lining up the front & rear iron sights.

Thanks, good to know. I'm with BCBoy though, I like the look of the rail being the same level from front to back.

I agree too, I'd like the rails the same height. Though, I think it looks a bit top heavy, or just odd with the one long rail just on top. Actually, I don't really like the look of any rail combination on the factory handguard...
