SR-22 jamming issue

Went to the range to try the gun a bit more and its still constantly jamming even with the factory 10 round mag with a few different types of ammo, back to square one, whats the zip tie method? I did a search and cant find it.

Extractor! Extractor!! Is it even still in the bolt?

The zip tie fix probably won't fix this. It's for keeping the magazine at the correct angle. Is the spent casing getting left in the chamber on every round? Definitely sounds like it could be an extractor problem. Does the extractor move freely with finger pressure and will it snap back into position when you let it go? Does the hook end of the extractor feel sharp?

The extractor looks good and feels sharp and it does move back into place if I try and move it. I'm going to order a new one just doesn't seem like its in bad shape

Does your SR-22 have the factory barrel or aftermarket? If the empties are staying stuck in the chamber you might have an undersized chamber. My 8" Dlask Xtreme won't extract Winchester ammo, even with a Tac-Sol extractor.I have to take the empties out with a knife. How does it feel when you pull back the charging handle?Smooth or rough?

its the factory barrel, and when I pull the handle back its very easy and smooth for the first half but the second half gets harder like its hitting another spring or something, still smooth just more tension.

That's normal,it's the bolt cocking the hammer.Take the barrel out of the gun and drop some rounds into the chamber.they should slide all the way in with no resistance, then hold the barrel upside down the rounds should fall right out.

Milarm is the VQ dealer in Canada. Are the empties stuck tight enough that you have to take them out with a knife or other tool?
Yeah if they are still all the way in the chamber ill use a knife. If they are half way out then I can just use my finger to pull them out

If you can manually extract the spent casing easily with your knife or fingers, doesn't sound like the chamber is too tight or irregular. With a spent casing in the chamber, when you cycle the bolt forward, can you see the extractor move around the rim of the casing and then slip under it when the bolt is fully forward? Pulling the bolt back should now extract that casing.

it looks like its going around the rim on the casing but just not pulling it out. I contated the VQ dealer in canada and they said they will be out until the end of the year.

I have a stock extractor that I know works fine. PM me your address and I'll send it out to you gratis.

Brownells has Volquartsen 10/22 extractors if nobody in Canada has any.

When I first got my 10/22, it stovepiped badly. With the combination of a radiused bolt and Volquartsen extractor, it runs like a sewing machine with any ammo I have tried, including subsonic. I could not tell you the last time it had a stoppage.

Which Butler Creek magazines are you using? The Hot Lips ones do not have a good reputation. The Steel Lips magazines are much better.
