Hey guys,

I'm looking into getting an AR style tacticool .22. I'm debating between getting an sr22 or a standard 10/22 and dropping it into Troy chassis. Being that the Sr22 needs an upper rail to complete the look, it would prob end up costing a little more than Troy but the benifit to the SR is the medium heavy barrel.

Has anyone here had both of these and can give an honest opinion about the 2? Thanks

Troy is definitely lighter, unless you're using a heavy .92" bull barrel on your 10/22. I have an SR22 and really like it except for the weight. I've thought of selling it several times, but then I take it out and shoot it and enjoy it so much I decide its worth keeping. Its well-made, and very satisfying to shoot. I just don't think I'd want to carry it very far!

I have handled several Troy chassis guns and like them allot, although I have read they have their own unique problems too. There is plenty of talk about them on the forums here - just do a search.

SR22 is a pain in the *** to take apart with 6 different screws with 3 different size torx, flathead and hex. There are only 3 hex screws (2 sizes) on the Troy chassis and it's a much more slick design.

I just put this together last night. Super easy, less than five minutes. I'm thrilled with the quality of it so far, I'd highly recommend the T22 Sport. (not shown are the integrated flip up Troy sights which are very nice).

Coll guys, thanks for the pics. I will prob get a Tory if my current 10/22 doesnt sell. I'll just toss it into the Troy kit. Saying that, does anyone know who sells rails to attach to the Troy. Not looking for full quad rails, just a full lower rail and small pieces for the front quarters. Will any pic rail work (that isnt key mod)? Thanks

I think you need their TRX specific rail sections. I found one on Amazon.ca. Also ctscsupplies has it, but out stock currently.

Hey guys - quick question - has anyone who owns the T22 had any issue getting a magpul grip on there? Ive got a MIAD and it just wont fit. seems like only an A2 grip will go on mine, however rive seen some pics with the T22 wearing them

any insight?

thanks in advance

Both are fakes. Buy a 15-22 if you want an AR-22.
The charging handles and safety are fake.
Atleast with the sr22 Youll have a fake heavy bull barrel.
Lol and still shoot groups larger than a marlin or mossy.

Buy Nordic Components hardware for a Ruger 10/22 as it can be outfitted with any Mil-Spec or Commercial AR furniture. Looks pretty close to the real thing.

I don't have the T22 but when I installed a MIAD on my SR22 I did have to dremel out some material on the inside of the grip above the backstrap. The curve on the frame was wider than the curve of the grip and didn't allow it to seat far enough into the grip. Maybe it's similar on the T22

I have one of each. If you want upgradablility with standard AR parts go with the SR-22 (Nordic) if you want quick, easy and rock solid go with the Troy. I did find that the Troy required fitting where the Nordic dropped right in., but if I had to go with only one I'd probably go with the Troy.

+1 for Amazon.ca
