SR-22 Restricted??

Emailed an online gunstore about an SR-22 and there response has me kindof confused.

Is the SR-22 a RESTRICTED firearm?

The dealer seems to think it is, but I thought they were just another .22 in the non-restricted column.

To the best of my knowledge it is unrestricted.

Additionally, I was at wholesale a few weeks ago and looked at one, and the saleman there also confirmed that it was unrestricted.

Who is telling you that it is restricted?

Thanks guys, I was was really confused when he told me it was restricted! Perhaps it was just a typo in his email.

We shall see, I emailed them back askin for more clarification on its "restricted" status
 
As far as I can tell on the website it is a standard SR-22 with a collapsible stock. No short barrels.

Another question, what are the restrictions on barrel length for .22s? Are they the same as every other rifle?
 
If this was a stock SR-22 and the dealer doesn’t know if firearms in his own shop are restricted or unrestricted I can only imagine how the rest of the deal would go. Lots of good sponsors at the top of this site.

I've seen 10" Barrels as well as 6" on some sites. But like I mentioned above. If your over all length of the rifle is 26" or less. It becomes a restricted or prohibited firearm IIRC.

ie: 10" barrel and a folding stock would make it under 26"

I own an SR-22 but only have my regular PAL, so either they are non-restricted or I have been turned into a criminal by our awsome gun laws. Actually that wouldn't surprise me. Do they at least send you a letter when they criminalize you or just show up at your door?
