Update
SR Barriers are now built
VTac Plans are at the bottom
What I have built is a variant of the VTac design.
IMHO the design is flawed and as such I have made the shooting ports larger and fewer for rifle applications.
I built six of these over two days and the paint ain't dry yet.
Still more work to do painting the remaining supports

Look at this design - it just makes sense to me.
Also have a look at Nutnfancy (forward to time sequence 28:45) on Youtube. When he and 'is homies are shooting in the desert waddies they run a similar run and gun barrier at each station. Too much fun.

Not bad for $230 worth of supplies and two days of work (for one guy - me). This is enough to keep your local Club, Patrol or unit running lots of relays for decades of shooting fun / training. I'd recommend a work team of two chaps though. One full day and you would be done.

These would be great for the new modified prone in CQB! Tim k if we get volunteers would these be in the realm of possibility to build and store?

Assuming we could store them in the SeaCan on base and assuming a bunch of us built them with out own cash and carry them out every match... Good chance of it actually.

If we can't leave them in the SeaCan then we need someone with a pickup who will drop them off at every match...

Either way, I'd gladly volunteer to pay for and build a few. Sounds like a perfect multi person gathering in the man-cave with beer and Canadian Reload Radio project... Lol

Not to be a downer, but to those from Ontario, this design could easily become a flying guillotine on a windy day at Connaught.

I'd consider drilling a hole through each of the vertical support slots so that the board can be locked into place with a removeable spike or lag bolt. Also longer legs and sandbags to hold them down.

No downer at all.
The 3/4" plywood is designed to be held in place by having a 2.5" screws driven through the vertical supports to fix them to the barrier. Then sandbags are laid across the horizontal supports as an anchor. They aren't going anywhere. It does get windy at connaught though - I do agree. But prior planning prevents piss poor performance.

I would volunteer tools, time and some cash for supplies if these were storable and would be used ..........

Tim addressed this on Sunday. Won't happen. He would need too many of them, it would take too much time to set up and take down, and the storage and consistent volunteers would be a real problem.

I like them, personally, and will make a couple I can take to the EESA range for personal and family use.

I have to wonder if thin nylon barriers that wrap up around two poles (that you'd stick in the ground) would be better for mobility. It may not be as cool, but it'd beat lugging around a big sheet of plywood.
