So after having the front site on my SR1911 replaced to a fiber optic, due to the factory sight breaking off, my gun now shoots 3-4 inches low at 10yards. I spoke to the gunsmith and his best answer was to replace the rear with an adjustable one. Problem is, I cant seem to find an adjustable Novak style rear sight in Canada, and I'm not sure I could get one sent out of the US. Anyone know of any retailers in Canada that might have what I seek?

I'm looking for one for my SAM omega, which is supposed to have a Novak style rear, as it shoots high. Or perhaps I can find a taller front sight and hope to just wing it...

Surely a local machinist could replicate the original front sight (which would be my recommendation, they're combat sights to be used with a holster that are on it). If you change to adjustable target rear sights the look of the gun would just be off IMHO.

If you email Ruger they will no doubt give you the dimensions and drawings (I know they're computer generated), that any machinist could turn out. May not be cheap, but it is surely an option?
