SR1911 waiting line

I'm 1st on the list at a local shop. They haven't seen any yet and said they don't really expect to until March at earliest. If I have to wait, I'll wait. I'm not dying for it but sure would be nice if it arrived in a month or two.
 
I pre-ordered mine months ago with Arma-Coat(supporting dealer).

Left my CreditCard# and will be charged when they get here.

Not holding my breath though because they're in short supply, even in the States.

Just got to hurry up & wait.
 
Latest from my pre-order shop has indicated that in reality, they might be here by the summer. I sent an e-mail to Ruger looking for any updates two weeks ago but haven't had a response.
 
I picked this up off the EE a few weeks ago, 725.00 shipped, hardly used. Fella's, its worth your wait. Shoots great, feels great!

I'm waiting them to be avalaible. I'm not on pre-order list. I wish in 2012 but it'll be more in 2013 I think. Anyway I have another 1911 on hand now.
 
Was waiting, but I don't wait well lol.

I'll pick one up if I ever see one in passing, but I'm no longer on the "desperate list".
 
Walked into the Pictou Gunshow in April.

Saw NIB Ruger SR1911 at Brian Densmore Firearms' booth.

Bought it for $739.13

Nothing to it....

Just got lucky really, one of two he'd ordered in months earlier. One was ordered in for somebody and the other he ordered on spec.

I'm very pleased with it so far. I think it's a great looking and great shooting 1911.

Sorry, not meaning to rub salt in the wounds of you guys who are still waiting for one......ok, yes I am!

I'm 5 days into waiting for my transfer of the one I bought, apparently in BC we're at around a one week wait at the moment so might have to wait until next week before I can shoot it.

$1100!!! WTF! Wow Gouging is live and present.

I can assure you these aren't that hard to obtain. I have personally had three of these and sold them for what I paid or less.

I would like to keep it but there are people waiting a year, so of they want it more than me, that would be the price for me being willing to give it up and wait for another one and not have the enjoyment of shooting it now.

I am settled in my house, if someone walked up to me and said they were looking for a house just like mine and offered me what my neighbour just sold for, I wouldn't be interested as I am happy with this house and they can go find another house to buy... But if they came in noteably higher, I'd be looking for moving boxes. Every material item I own has a price, it's a material thing and can be replaced, sometimes when you want something NOW you pay a premium.

Maybe if someone has patience they can wait for you find anothe one, use it then sell it to them, or wait on a list as some people are waiting one YEAR for theirs... Or they can buy a brand new one for a couple hundred more than I paid.

This is a free country and the board allows opinions for the most part. I understand what you're saying and to you, the value isn't there... But to someone else who is tired of waiting, it might be. It's a capitalistic society and I can sell my goods for what ever amount I would like and if someone is willing to pay it, then that is what will happen.
 
On the EE & asking prices...

Guys.... we've been down this road before with EE sales of Ruger SR1911's that have come up from time to time. And all manner of other things for that matter.....

The general rule is people can put whatever asking price they like on their property for sale. If someone is willing to pay the asking price, then so be it. If you don't like it then don't buy it. Simple.

You can agree to disagree & that's it.

And I certainly don't want to hear about anyone getting harrassed via PM about asking prices on the EE.... ;)

Yep, they are available, if you know where to look. (key is getting on a waiting list)

I have had great luck with Wanstall's, Sask gunworks and Prairie for the hard to find stuff.

I have fairly good info saying that the Cdn market will have a large shipment of SR1911's in August.

Yup, get on a wait list and do just that, wait. There "should" be more some time in August.., so only another three months for a maybe... :)
Or
Get one as soon as your payment clears and the CFO completes the transfer :)
