Im looking to improve my SR22 a little and am looking into a match grade barrel and trigger assembly. Can anyone tell me if a match barrel will mount the same on a SR22 like on a 10/22 or should I scrap the idea and just build it on a 10/22 platform?

Well you can't improve on the factory barrel without replacing it ... lol. So the link to the Dlask site is good place to start. But if you want a match grade barrel, your best bet is to contact Jerry Teo at Mystic Precision. And yes, all aftermarket 10/22 barrels will fit into a SR22 receiver since it's a 10/22 re-badged with an SR. As for triggers, you have a few choices ... Timney, Kidd & volquartsen to name a few. And if your skill set is good, you can do your own trigger jobs by grabbing a couple youtube videos.

I've already polished my receiver and did the auto bolt release mod, I'm too chicken to radius the sears myself or the bolt lol. The dlask sr22 barrel is the same barrel I have in my sr already I believe. I have already been talking to mystic precision about a match barrel but he says that because of the "wonky" set up on the sr the match barrel may not help accuracy, he is talking about the block in the fore end but I've already removed that and it's improved my groups a bit. I'm just looking to pimp my rifle out with some high end goodies is all.
So I guess what I'm really asking is it better to work with the sr or should I get an actual 10/22 stock and free float it and glass bed and pillar it? I really want an all purpose rifle that I can plink/target/varmint hunt with and not worry about accuracy.

I'm assuming removing the barrel support block is the same idea as free floating the barrel, correct?

Yes ... some say it's a good idea and other will tell you it's not.

The block on the SR22 is there for a reason I say, so it should just be left there. The 10(SR)/22 receiver has weak side as I was told, and the weight of the barrel could in fact cause the walls of the receiver to warp causing the top of the body to bulge. Giving you the hump which will cause your POI to drop.

Does your barrel say "DLASK" on the side of it? If not, it is the factory SR barrel which is a .750 and not that bad of a barrel. Just like any of the 10/22 models, a bedding job will improve your accuracy vastly and is a good option if you are using a standard or aftermarket stock.

Its useless... Have a look at Nordic component... The ones who actually make the SR22 they dont use one... It was just a ruger idear ;) Mine didnt eve touch the barrel when I got it...

Just scrap it and get a bull barrel

For a light barrel, I'd remove it myself. Both of my SR's had one and they both made contact with the barrel. I installed Dlask .920 blocks when I upgraded. I may just be a believer that if it's there .. use it. :D

On my current build, I moved my support block rearward to the second last hole. Instead of the pressure on the front of the barrel, it's now about 4" from the breech and the rest free floated.
