So I'm buying my first 22 rifle (SR-22) and I would like to know what upgrade I should consider as far as reliability and convenience. I do not really have any knowledge on these 10/22 so your input is welcome. For now I'm considering:

Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 Auto Bolt Release
Custom charging handle.

Should I mess with the trigger at all or it is fine from the factory?

Thanks
C-

These are essential 10/22 upgrades:
Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 Auto Bolt Release

A buffer bolt is also high on the list.

Everything else is optional :)

Buy the Volquartsen hammer if you want.
A Power Custom hammer will work the same.

For recoil buffer go with Tuffer Buffer, not only because it's Canadian,
but because it's better. Fabsports.ca and other dealers here sell it.

You can upgrade your handguard with Dlask rails, made in Canada and
only at a fraction of the price of other rails.
Go with a pair of Magpul BUIS sights (MBUS),
you can buy them from a variety of dealers here, Blaxsun and others.
At other dealers you will find a fine bipod.

Thanks for the info. Anything I should be aware of when it come to oversized charging handle (quality of guide rod, tolerances...)? Some are made from aluminum, some from hardened tool steel. There are a few models available:

You could always do your bolt release modification yourself. I just did mine and it worked like a hot damn. Go to YouTube and search "10/22 bolt release mod" and you'll get a couple vids that'll show you how to do it. All you need is a Dremel tool and a small diamond grinder.

Also, while you're at TufferBuffer get yourself a couple Tactical Innovations 25 rd. mags. The best available and at a very good price.

Have fun with your SR-22. I love mine!

Yes, I had to do a little dremel job on the handle knob to make it fit but I really liked the look of that handle. Now I just need a Dlask bull barrel, a muzzle break and a few Volquartsen parts around the trigger.

Those Dlask rails look awsome, wish I had something that looked that good on my VTR! :)

Sure they make one for the VTR as well . It's of very high quality , it's strong and it has a lot of venting , including venting thru the rails .

yes i know , their website shows an older version b/c they didn't update their website pictures yet .

This is the Dlask last version quad rail handguard for the VTR :
