I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for steel sr9 mags. I purchased the pistol as a christmas present for my son, to shoot IDPA this year. The mags that it comes with have a steel upper section and a plastic lower. Basically they are a steel 10rnder with a plastic piece added to the bottom to make up the lenght. They look to be very crappy and i don't see them standing up to any abuse. The us mags ar all steel with i believe a 17rnd cap. What i would like is some of those pinned to 10. Is that a possiblity in Canada , or are we stuck with this plastic crap??

Most "Hi Cap" 9mm's come with the same style of mag in jurisdictions where you're only allowed to shoot anything 10 times. My M&P9 has exactly the same type of mag construction and I've dropped them on all kinds of surfaces with no issues.

+1 on no problems. I have 8 with the pastic bottoms and have had 0 issues. I shoot IPSC, have released them on concrete, lawn, gravel and have had no issues.

Got most of my extras from Frontier Firearms.

There is a company that began producing aftermarket parts for them. PM me and I can send you the link as I think if I post it here admin will delete it as they are not a sponsoring company as they are US.
