So I recently bought a Thumbler and was looking to purchase some SS pins to start cleaning some brass. I'm having some problems locating about 5lbs locally here in Edmonton and was wondering where the community bought theirs? I see some older threads in the EE forums but nothing current it seems.

I noticed the link to Rooky's thread when I searched the forums before I posted. I was hoping to find something local but has anyone dealt with him since his last for sale post on the 30th of September?

Just received some yesterday from Rooky. He can't be beat, great guy to deal with.
 
Clean is the key. I got a sonic cleaner for Christmas and like many you either love it for cleaning the inside or you hate because because it takes way too long. I can say that it does take a long time. I hoping that the way around this tumbling first to get them into good state them into the sonic bath to finish the inside and primer pockets. I'm sure that this will cut down on the total time and make me like the sonic cleaner a little more than I do right now. Bling Bling brass inside and out even when using old brass from the range.
 
I haven't tried SS pins yet, but really want to. I've heard that they clean primer pockets and case internals, therefore eliminating the need for any further cleaning. Is there any truth to this? Also, what type/brand of tumbler is recommended?

That's pretty much true.. "Tumblers" tumbler seems to be the "original" one but there are different sizes and qualitys..

If you're the least bit handy try building your tumbler...
I thought the commercially available units did not have the capacity I'd need/want.

Mine can handle upwards of 800 .223 cases. Works great.

Check out post 2 on page 50... Guy built an insane unit.
cleans, seperates brass from media and dries...
all in one automated unit. ..

I run a Thumlers Tumbler (3000 rpm) with my SS media. Lots of tumbling options out there.
