Anybody know where I can find one and what the price is? I understand they don't ship to individuals in Canada anymore.

My 2.5 lb standard accu trigger just isn't cutting it.

I'm not sure how I'd get one.. apparently savage won't sell their triggers alone.

I am hoping there is a Canadian dealer who imports the SSS stuff.

All these import/ export laws are enough to drive us crazy here.. good thing all those terrorists and thugs aren't getting their hands on target triggers and hunting scopes.. the beaurocrats make me wanna:puke:

SSS will not ship to Canada. The timney trigger is one option for replacement. In my opp the timney is a little overpriced. The SSS is a little better quality and in my case it was cheaper than the timney.
If I was looking for a savage replacement trigger, I would get a Rifle basix sav 2 trigger or a worked over standard 3 screw trigger, depending on what you want to spend.

I bought a Timney for a build, but haven't replaced it yet. I really do like the Accutrigger in my new Model 10 though.

warrenb, does that mean they will also not ship to Canadian dealers with all the correct paperwork?

Bolivar, thanks, I know you are a fellow savage fan ;) I will try calling them this week, according to their website they don't take emails anymore.

Also, can anybody tell me whats the best pricing for a basix sav- 1 trigger?

Unless things have changed since I last dealt with them. It is always better to call these companys direct and ask for a direct answer. :D Or just go with the another trigger.

Well, just got a reply for my wtb ad so it looks like I'm getting a rifle basix sav 1 trigger for 80 shipped. Apparently they can be safely adjusted down to just under 1.5 lbs. I think this will be good.. the sav 2 is really the cats meow but I can't shell out the dough right now.

flyinlead,
I have savages with timney, SSS and standard accu triggers. The difference between the standard non acu trigger (single screw) and a timney or SSS trigger is big. The difference in feel btween the accu trigger and these two after markets triggers is not so large. For that reason I would go with the sav 2. I understand money constraints very well and for that reason I would suggest asking for more oppinions before buying the sav 1. It would be a shame to spend the $80 for little improvement.

I think that Rifle Basix used to ship to Canada?

Yep, I was just thinking along the lines of what you were saying and I decided to just go ahead and order the sav 2. may as well do it right the first time, and I think I would wait a while to get one used. Thanks for the advice and helping reinforce my decision. Looking foreward to getting this baby on! I understand this is the top option for savages.
