Stag 10 Build Question (Regarding BCG & barrel)

I've done some research and I'm coming up with many different answers to a simple question:

How much does the BCG affect accuracy in an AR-10?

I purchased a Faxon match-series heavy fluted 20" 416-R with 5R button rifling and 1:10 twist. Is it a waste to pair this with, say, a stock Stag 10 BCG or a Brownell's BCG? Is there some benchmark I should stay above in order to get the most out of this barrel? Some say spend what extra money you can spare on the barrel and trigger, others are recommending super expensive BCGs or factory matched barrels & BCGs...

I'm not super experienced with the AR platform so I'm having trouble understanding what difference the BCG will make.

Simply put, it doesn’t.

You’re talking about a mass produced “match grade” barrel, and while I don’t doubt that any “match grade” barrel like yours will shoot respectable groups with respectably matched ammo, the minimal differences the BCG will impose will be impossibly noticeable unless you’re an incredibly accomplished shooter who regularly shoots sub .25 MOA groups on a bad day.

Buying quality in regards to a BCG isn’t so much about accuracy, but reliability and longevity.

All this comes in somewhat hypocritically as I have a Lantac EBCG in my stag10 but the only reason I do is because I managed to pick it up for the same price as a basic Stag BCG. Once I have a reliable and accurate load worked up for it this spring, I’ll see if any local guys want to lend me their whatever brand BCG to prove or disprove what I’m saying but I’m fairly confident in saying this as I’ve done it with my precision AR15 and the BCG shad zero noticeable difference.

Yeah I don't expect miracles because I paid 100$ more for a barrel than the stock one costs, I guess I just want to make sure that 100$ premium isn't wasted because I threw the wrong BCG in there...
 
If you have the stock BCG, stick with it.
If you are piecing this together, I would get a titanium one to lower the central mass of the rifle and help with recoil. (Recoil should already be pretty low)
These rifles are already heavier than typical bolt guns, once you start adding tacticool devices, it really adds up.
I got a sling on mine, lightweight bipod, and 4x14 scope... 12 lbs 2 oz.

If I knew what I was doing, I would have started from scratch with an upper+lower.

The nitride one is on for 129$ USD right now, I ordered it on Sunday along with a Magpul PRS. The nickel one is 136$. There's a 20$ + free shipping coupon code out there too.

I did end up going with Brownell's BCG, Magpul PRS, rifle length buffer tube and Faxon Match 20" from Arms East. Still not decided on hand guard, trigger or muzzle device. Can't find a .308 charging handle anywhere.

I would get a Radian Raptor. CTC Supplies has one in stock. Every Stag except for one has a Raptor.

For a trigger, I really like my Elftmann. It’s really pricey though.

The most important thing is that the headspace is precisely matched to a given barrel for precision shooting. The bolt carrier is of minor detail as long as the timing of the entire gas system is correct. The expanding and contraction of the case must be exact with the unlocking of the bolt and movement of the bolt carrier.
