stag 10 handguard options

I'm not sure what specific fitments the Stag-10 is compatible with or if it takes any AR-10 compatible handguard so my apologies if this suggestion is incorrect but I have a Paper City Firearms handguard on an 11.5" AR-15 upper that I bought from Arms East. I rather like the thing, its M-LOK and has integral QD mounts front and rear on both sides, the scallop texture feature on the bottom is rather unique too. I noted that they make the same style in AR-10 fitments: ht tps://papercityfirearms.com/online-shopping/paper-city/handguards/g2-ar10-16-5-hand-guard

I would be a bit cautious. There are like 3 different AR-10 handguard types and the G2. When it says G2 in the name, I want to believe it’s for a DPMS G2.

The Stag 10 takes DPMS high handguards.

Depends what your focus is on, esthetics or weight. I'll be going for as much weight saving as possible (without blowing the bank on titanium parts, at least not right now), so as long as the gas block is covered, I'll be happy.

I’m rocking 12” handguard on my SLR and stag. I like my gas blocks exposed. As far as the Bi-pod and a longer handguard I don’t think it should make much difference, if anything you lose pan range. But on the subject the BLK LBL handguard is pretty awesome.
Here’s a 12” fortis for comparison. The UTG is in the background.

anyone find the handguard on the Stag 10GI has sharp edges on the lightning cuts not the m lok cuts? guy had one at the range and i can see a guy easily cut himself on it

well, I've had the JP MKIII 15.5" on my home built stag 10 308 for a bit now , probably 300 ish rounds down range.
I like the minimalist rail free textured tubular form and it grips really nice. I only have one small rail section on it for the front sight.
super happy with it

One reasonably priced handguard I like is the JL billet at $350.

I have 2 handguards from TNA that were $110. Still need to install them and see what they are like. So far they feel good.

I have yet to touch the JL billet, but at 10oz WITH barrel nut, it seems like a great value!
I also like the angle cut front, just barely enough to cover gas port.
I wonder if it feels thinner than the stock stag 10 mlock handguard?
It has to feel lighter, almost a full 7 oz lighter than the stock handguard.

Bump to Bad Karma's question:
any experience with the Aero Precision M5 ATLAS R-ONE?

Price is attractive, and I can't really justify spending in the $300 range or more for a handguard.

Thanks for all the great posts BTW

Not a clue, but if it's a DPMS style barrel nut then it should fit, I'm not a fan of the wedge types, I have 3 hand guards I'm thinking 9f, I have the 16.5 inch stag one, a cut down for a A2 front sight gas block and a standard A2 drop in style

I've been told the threads are DPMS style.
I thought the turnbuckle assembly was pretty clever and foolproof. Why are you not a fan?

For me it's personal preference but I've had a few hand guards that were wedge stall that just snapped on me it was an cold and it wasn't heat so I don't know what happened I sent back to the manufacturer and they didn't get back to me

I picked up a set of these in 12"... Rock solid! They were a bit snug going on, little grease worked it slow ;)
They line up and level height is perfect. I have MI handguards as well and I'd say the Areo are a bit nicer.
My 2cents
Cheers,
BK

I want a centurion 7.62 mlok rail, Brownells only stock the ar15 version and optics planet won't ship to canada, if any suppliers are reading this, order some in please, they are dpms high ;)
