In a quick follow up to my STAG 10 story, took video of the thing failing to run properly on a few loads. Back to the shop we go. First vid the "smith" says I am not seating the mag ( complete horse sh*t I say). Second vid and third vid with the fails to feed again showing proper mag insertion etc. Around this time I start questioning what he had done for checking spec on the barrel port, Claims it was done, on questioning if he had checked spec for port hole in the gas tube the "gunsmith" got quite evasive as I was asking about possible "chokepoints" in the gas flow.
At this point he got fairly agitated, I must admit that I was pushing a few buttons. Around this time the bonehead said the only thing that could be done was mill out the barrel port ( voiding the warrantee) and that I was "shooting the gun wrong" ( I'm 250 lb and was shooting from the bench, not sure what else can be done there) when asked how I should be shooting the gun, he was unable to give any legible explanation and actually contradicted what one of the shop workers had said about direct impingement functioning 10 minutes prior.
Long story short, got a full refund on the Stag.
Moral of the story, never purchase a semi with out an iron clad written guarantee that it will be running perfectly out the door and stick to piston drive.
