I am getting a stag 10 that I plan on using for hunting. I have been using my benelli r1 which is a great reliable gun but I am looking for something a little more accurate. Any suggestions for what I should do for optics as I am not all that familiar with black rifles.

Every deer I have ever shot has been inside 200 yards. This year was about 20 yards, last year was about 40. I have a good spot. I wouldn't trust my accuracy beyond 300. Maybe the stag 10 will change that but I doubt it. I am thinking around 1000 for a scope.

I have a nikon prostaff 5 3.5-16 with an illuminated bdc. It is a decent scope you think that would work I plan on keeping both the r1 and the stag and want a scope on both. But I am not sure whether the nikon would work well on the stag.

Thanks for posting that video. Didn't know they were coming out with a 1-8x. Looks like it's going to be worth giving one a try.
Primary Arms 1-6X24 FFP is a great scope, chevron is so easy to aim with. FFP is handy when you need to change magnification fast and stay on target, shooting of hand on the lowest magnification is so much easier.
Pretty fond of my US optics TS-12. For the money it has a lot of features and is light and compact, reticle is nice and glass is decent. Coupled with the appropriate Aero extended mount it makes for a very light package. It’s what I picked for my Stag 10 anyways.
