Thinking of getting one of these but I heard that it has problems with 7.62 x 51 but runs ok with .308

Have a wack of 7.62 ammo that I would be using and no .308

Those of you who own one of these, what's the word?

This dude claims it's only tuned to run .308

STAG will run both 7.62 and .308. As others have said, work the action, clean and apply lots of lube before firing. Mine started out finicky with 7.62 until I got some extra rounds down range. Now it cycles 7.62 no problem.

There is one or two other threads that cover this too. Forget the YT warriors or reviews as they are based on the US offerings. Just check out all the Stag-10 threads under AE spot or here; https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/70-Main-Battle-Rifles

I personally have used a few different 7.62x51 ranging from China Surplus to very nice Austria Hirtenberger. Lube and bring the bottle with you to the range in case you need a bit more. Don't be surprised or worried if it takes a few 100 rounds before it smooths out. I've used a bit of lithium grease on the BCG side contact points as mine was quite tight at first.

Aguila and Hirtenburg 7.62X51 are no problem for my rifle. However the first 40 rounds I would periodically have to use the forward assist to close the bolt. After a 100 rounds ...no issues. Faxon pencil barrel, Stag10 BCG, STAG10 gas block and tube.
