Stag 10 wont pivot open

Most tubes will go in too far. Only by a single turn at most though. Not the case for the OP. One of many examples I’ve read/experienced. http s://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Buffer_Tube_Screwed_in_too_far/66-453989/

The tube it too long on the threaded end, it’s out of spec or for a different firearm. You can use the slide/2 pin method or send it back. Installing a new tube would void warranty unless you get it in writing from Arms East that it doesn’t. Good luck!

Let me rephrase... You can't thread a tube in too far when the buffer retainer is where it's supposed to be.... That's a completely different issue being discussed in that thread

Well in that case you’re correct, I’ve seen some mangled messes when it come to AR assembly lol.

Probably done by half the guys commenting in this thread.

Haha not the ones that passed over my bench. I’ll admit I screwed a few up, due to lack of sleep/concentration usually.

Haven’t seen a lot of issues like the OP’s, but the tube is really the only issue I can see. Unless the frame is bent.

Everything else lines up nice lol...I guess off she goes again. Just have to figure another month plus with no rifle...for the second time

Thx for help BooSSted and kratos as well as dr hunter

If this is go around #2 you better be getting free shipping to and from. And at least you’ll still have warranty and a properly functioning rifle this way. Try and get some free mags or something! Be sure to update us with rifle #3.

I don't know if it would void warranty. It's reasonable to think that people will change out stocks, grips etc. Maybe they could reimburse you to take it to a gunsmith to fix?

If the Endplate is not staked into the castlenut they could never tell if you unscrewed the castlenut and buffer tube, thus maintaining your warranty.

Don't take a loss in the ee for a 2 minute fix. I have my doubts you'd need a new buffer tube. You can see from Dave machines pic that you don't need much of the buffer tube to keep the buffer retainer in.

That story from ar15 is impressive lol

+1 on this. It's a simple fix for someone who has the tools. If AE won't do the right thing, there are several CGNers out your way who would probably be willing to give you a hand. It's a 30min job that won't cost you much more than a 6pak and you won't have to buy any new hardware to fix it. I wouldn't take a hit on such a high priced item by getting low balled on the EE or losing out on money for no reason of your own.

I'm certain AE will do the right thing. They've been very reliable for all my dealings with them and also from other reports by other CGNers. If they are out of stock that's one thing, this shouldn't take more than a week to have a new 100% working rifle in your hands.

I notice that spyderchop's rifle has a loop for a sling on the plate, while the other rifles pictured do not. Do these rifles normally come with the sling loop?
If the loop isn't standard, someone has had this rifle apart.

I looked in the pictures, theres a lip, i thought it was a fixed then i noticed the jam nut, the tubes been threaded in too far, some one has had it apart your right, i dont know if they come factory like it or not, but is suspicious

Good to hear. Good luck moving forward with this. Hopefully the 3rd rifle is perfect. PM me if you've got any questions. I've done a fair bit of work on these rifles over the last couple months.

Hey thx so much. I really want to love this rifle!

Stag arms is sending me package for the waste of my time as well which is nice. So far outstanding service from them this morning anyway
