Hey all, after considering the Magpul PRS for my Stag 10, I’ve realized that I may want to try the standard A2 stock on there first as I quite like the look. Again being new to the AR10 platform, I’m wondering if the Stag A2 stock kit will work as it’s listed as an AR15 part? And will the JP SCS work in this stock? The specific one I’m looking at is at CTCS shown in link below;

Thanks as always for any help!

This is what I bought for my stag-10

From True North Arms:
1. 1x A2 buttstock screw
2. 1x Buffer tube spacer for A2 buttstocks
3. 1x Bushmaster A2 buttstock (partial kit)

From Red Deer Shooting Centre:
1. 1x Aero Precision, M5 308 Rifle Buffer Kit

Now just waiting for the receiver set and all the other parts to come in! :)

I wish Stag or Armseast had the A2 stock as an option. I hate going to multiple places to source parts

??? Did you talk to ArmsEast? I’m sure they’d install an A2 stock on your rifle or order one in from Stag.

My only concern would be the LOP since the receiver appears longer behind the trigger area than an AR15.

No. I didnt talk to them as the website listed various A2 supplies as out of stock. I will e mail them about having it as an option though--and hopefully if enough of us do it, it will happen :)

That's a good point about the receiver length, although IIRC it wasnt an issue with an A2 stocked DPMS LR308 I had.

I can take a few pics and measurements with mine tomorrow (Canada post screwed me over once again "delivering" my package today).

It will but you will need to buy a 308 a2 spring and buffer

What he said.

I ordered the Stag A2 kit from CCTS and a 308 rifle buffer and spring from Arms East (not sure if they still list it) it was the cheapest/quality option at the time.

It’s interesting the price difference between A2 kits. The stocks are essentially the same and probably sourced from the same manufacturer (you can spot the junk ones easy) and all the buffer tubes are 6160.

A true mil-spec kit will have a 7075 grey colour tube and a plastic spacer. The only way to guaranty a true mil-spec stock is if you source one from Colt... but again. Probably comes from the same source.

Thanks for measuring. That’s 11/16th longer than an A2 on an AR-15. A1 stock LOP is 12 7/8” so looks like a fixed won’t be an option for me unless I look at the Fixed MOE or maybe Sully stock.

I bought the buffer tube assembly from arms East and the rest from true north arms, wish I could have gotten it all in one spot, with a metal shoulder pad haha, I got a pre loved butt stock body too
