I have a Stag with a front site. I want to take it off and put an aimpoint site on it. Is there a part I need to buy to take place of where this rod attaches to front site. And, if so where can I get it in Canada.

If you are referring to the a2 front sight/ gas block then once removed you will need a new gas block. If running a handguard overtop of the gas block. Then you will need a low profile unit.

Not sure if you know this but you can still run your aimpoint on top and leave the a2 front sight where it is. It won't affect your shooting or anything. It will co witness nicely with your rear BUIS

You can cut off the sight portion of the factory gas block or buy yourself a railed gas block so you can install a front flip up sight or you can just get a low profile gas block and replace the forend with a free floated one.
If you don't understand how the operating system works you may want to look at some pics to see how much you need to leave behind if you cut it off. Just remember that once you cut it you can't uncut it and you will need to buy a new gas block if you screw it up.

Good luck

By the way you're talking about a sight not a site.

This will be one of the only times I will suggest using a Dremil. Stag are some of the hardest to remove and usually are cut off.

Even with a railed block how would you get a riser high enough to be able to use the aimpoint? This is taking the scout concept too far imo :p
