Stag10 BCG? Help me choose?

Hello,
I’m going to be ordering a BCG from Brownells, for my Stag 10 .
There’s so many to choose from :
Anyway, here’s a pic of the four I’ve got in my cart.

Which one should get?
What’s the difference between the $159 Brownells BCG and the AP BCG.

I'd run either one without hesitation. Same excellent materials, some people think same manufacturer, although the Aero one says HP tested in addition to MPI.

I've got a bunch of Brownells BCG's from the standard and lightweight AR-15 ones to the Titanium 308 one, they all seem like excellent quality for the price, headspace has been good with the bolts. All the finishing and staking has been great, including the Ti-N and Ni-B. On top of that Brownells has excellent customer service, better than Aero in my mind, and they will sell you just a bolt where Aero only sells complete BCG's.

I got the AP one for my bcl, it woukd not fit.
I hope it fits in my stag as that would be my spare bcg

I chose Brownell's NB 308 BCG...I had a $10 off coupon which covered shipping but lucky me got hit with canada post handling charge and taxes (+$35)...SO lucky...

I dunno, I just went with the Stag BCG for now.
I am really not educated enough in this platform or the manufacturers to know what is "better" than the stag offering,
glad this discussion is taking place though..... hopefully can learn something
Got a can post notification that the other parts i ordered from AE have arrived at my PO box, now I just need a barrel , gas block and handguard and I can get to shootin this thing.

I’ve also been told by a gun manufacturer, that they use a Brownells BCG, they just stamp their own company logo on it. I think quite a few companies might be doing this.

Out of the four I listed ,3 are similar and the other (JP) is low mass.

Does low mass mean lighter weight only, or is there more to it?

I am curious to know all about these low mass units as well. My 2nd build will be all about keeping it as light as possible but still no news on the first barrel I'm trying to have made (338Fed) so my hopes of a custom light weight upper in 7mm-08 might also be a difficult road to go down. Trying really hard to support canadian barrel makers but they really gotta get it together for more calibers than 6.5 and .223 based options. If I gotta wait longer than september..... I might as well just order up some Kriegers.

low mass means less reciprocating mass = less felt recoil and ability to use lower powered ammo. You'd usually tune the buffer spring and use an adjustable gas block for max performance.

Any of those will work just fine.

If running a ‘low mass’ BCG, you will have to change buffer springs or use a adjustable gas block to get the best performance. .308 win direct impigment rifles can be a bit finicky.

The JP Enterprises BCG’s are machining art. Of all the BCG’s I have the JP’s are by far the nicest. Attention to detail and finish is unmatched. For comparison I have Colt, Colt Canada, Spikes NB, Faxon, Rainer Arms, Lantac, V7 Titanium, WMD, Troy Industries, Daniel Defense, DPMS and brownells.

Lightest weight would be the V7. I have that in my lightweight bcl build but on ar the jp ulmos is the lightest and I agree they are a work of art but if going low mass plan for adjustable gas block. I'd probably go adjustable gas block automatically for 6.5 cm

I’m loading .308.
Everything (150 to 168 ) cycled excellent through my other stag, so I don’t think I need an adjustable GB.

Recoil was non existent,even after a hundred rounds in less than an hour.( maybe it was the brake)

I’ve got a high end barrel and trigger so I doubt the BCG will help with accuracy.

I think I’ll get the Brownells $129 BCG and put a few extra dollars into the handguard.
