To answer some questions in here.
It's not hard to get in the 6lb-6.5lb ish range for a Stag 10, it is just not cheap. If looking to save some weight when building one or upgrading a AR type rifle, focus on the big items first, Barrel, BCG, Handguard, Stock & gas block. They are the most expensive parts but also save the most weight. All the little stuff is expensive for the weight saved (trigger pins, safety, takedown pins, port door, etc).
My .308win hunting Stag 10 is 8.63lb with Optic, Optic mount, scope sunshade, scope caps, muzzle brake, sling & bipod. Vortex Razor LH 3-15x42 in a JP Enterprises mount. I could have gone lighter, but I think it function would be compromised by things like a battle arms sabre tube or Brigand Arms (snag city) handguard. Smoke composites now has some buttstock / handguard options that weren't available 2 years ago when I started my LW stag 10 hunting build, I might look into upgrading to save some more weight.
If running a light weight BCG, you should run a adjustable gas block. Tuning with buffer weights / springs is a bandaid approach to LW BCG's in my opinion. Might as well compensate for the lighter BCG at the source, which is the gas block, to balance it out properly. I like the SLR rifleworks Titanium Gas Blocks, I've also used the Superlative Arms gas blocks as well. The Brownells 308 titanium BCG is 7grams lighter than the V7 Titianium BCG. You cannot directly order BCG's from Brownells anymore since Jan 2020 without a $250 export permit. If I needed another .308 titanium BCG, I'd have someone like IRG or ###### import one for me from Brownells. The JP enterprises LW .308 BCG doesn't have Forward Assist serations on it, so if a FA is important to you don't buy the JP Enterprises LMOS .308 BCG.
For me the whole point of a LW BCG is to have a lighter rifle for hunting. Keep in mind that LW BCG's were originally developed for 3-gun target shooters, who wanted to minimize felt recoil & have faster split times. A LW BCG definetly decreases reliability. But I have found mine to be reliable enough once it is setup for a particular type of ammo and you clean it at a reasonable interval, which I find is about 250-300 rounds.
