I've seen a product that attaches to your forend that holds a single shell but it appears to be intended for semi autos does anything like it exist for a pump? Worried about shell retention while racking thanks

Match Saverz is what you are referring to and they do work good on a semi. According to the manufacturer, they have also mounted and work fine on an 870. Google match saverz and 870 and you will find a YouTube video of one in action.
